Yay! We have a date!

Today I had my follow up appointment with my doctor since he had an emergency on Monday. The babies look good but he gave me some great news - our scheduled c-section date! As long as I don't go into labor before hand (keep those fingers and toes crossed) then Liam, Alaina and Kiera will be welcomed into the world on Friday, November 28th around 10:00am, the day after Thanksgiving. I will hit 37 weeks that day and there is a very good chance they will all be over 5 pounds. Both my doctor and I were a bit bummed that we won't be having them vaginally (thanks Kiera) but at this point, I'm ok with a c-section. I'm just not looking forward to the recovery. But friends that have been through it tell me it's not that bad.

We are so excited! I'll be able to bend over again, roll over in bed, eventually sleep on my back, and so many other things we take for granted! Michael will be able to sleep better without having to hear me groan everytime I roll over or get up to pee. Well, maybe he won't sleep better since the babies will need attention but at least I won't be the cause! Hee hee.

If anything changes before hand, we'll post it here but go ahead and count on the babies arrival on the 28th.

HOSPITAL POLICIES
So for those of you that plan on visiting us in the hospital (Women & Infants in Providence, RI), here are their policies:

* Visiting hours are from 12 noon to 8 pm
* If you have a cold/flu, recovering from either, or have been exposed to either, please refrain from visiting until you are well or have been symptom free for at least 4 days.
The babies will be born at 37 weeks which is borderline preemie and could have lung issues. We want to do what we can to keep them out of the NICU and take them all home together. Being that it's cold and flu season, we don't want to take chances with lung and other health issues and appreciate your understanding.
* They ask that there be no visitors under the age of 14. We are ok with it (if you sneak them in) as long as the child(ren) are not ill and are well behaved.
* The postpartum rooms are extremely small so you may want to avoid coming in large groups. We were surprised with how small they were and that they only have one chair!
* I probably won't be up for visitors the day of the surgery but Saturday, Sunday and Monday look good! I'm guessing I'll be discharged on Tuesday.

Now it's only a week and half away before our lives change forever.

That is awesome Deanna! I've been through two c-secions (one at the same hospital in RI) and you'll be fine! Keeping my fingers crossed and we hope to catch up with you before everything changes ......

Take care,

Caroline

You are my hero! If you can make it 37 weeks with triplets then I can do it with twins. Can't wait to enjoy all those little treats like zipping up a regular pair of pants, too! I know our husbands will be the most excited of all :) Hang in there - only a WEEK! And I hear the section isn't that bad - at least that's what I'm counting on, too!
