The babies are now 8 weeks as of this past Friday and are growing by leaps and bounds. This also is the cause for not so frequent blog updates since the babies are awake more and demand more of our attention. Mom is still staying with us during the week and seems to enjoy helping out. We are glad she gets much needed rest at home on the weekends though. :-)
Aunt Susan left today to go back home to California. We will miss her dearly as she has been a tremendous help. Lots of small projects have gotten done because of her. The shelves and vinyl lettering are finally hung in the nursery and looks amazing. The babies clothes have been re-sorted and packed up.
Alaina had her 2 month checkup yesterday and now weighs 9lbs 9oz and is 22" long. I call her my little pork chop since she is a happy, chubby, beautifaul baby. She had her first round of vaccines and she was so brave! Only a couple tears that lasted for a minute or two (her, not me).
They have now outgrown the Newborn size and are wearing 0-3 months. Mom, Susan and I ventured out yesterday to the Carter's outlet for pajama's for the girls. Alaina had a meltdown because we didn't get the outfit she wanted. Just kidding, she was a little grumpy from the shots and I didn't give her the Tylenol in time. Now I knwo to stay home on shot day!
They are sleeping really well at night and actually slept for 7 hours straight Monday night! I have retrained myself to adjust to yet another sleep schedule so I can return to some sense of normalcy. Instead of going to bed at 6pm, I'm able to hold off to about 9 or 10 but still get up for the night feeding which can be anywhere from midnight to 3 am. Not fun but I enjoy the quiet one on one time which each baby.
