28 weeks and 6 days
Tomorrow will mark the beginning of the 29th week of my pregnancy and the start of my 3rd trimester. Today I had my weekly appointment and the babies had their growth check. They are still doing marvelous and I think even my doctor is impressed with how things are going. I passed my glucose test 2 weeks ago but my iron was a little low (a supplement takes care of that). My blood pressure is completely normal each week and I have no swelling. The aches and pains I have are typical and normal but I'm pretty good about checking with the doc on any new or concerning issues - all of them have been normal so far.
Is it possible to be proud of these three babies already? Here are their estimated weights:
Alaina = 3 pounds 1 oz
Kiera = 2 pounds 13 oz
Liam = 3 pounds 2 oz
That's almost 9 pounds of baby! 6 more pounds of baby to get to my personal goal of 5 pounders.
The girls have decided they no longer want to be head down and are now breech. My doctor told me I need to talk them into moving back the way they were so we can hopefully avoid a c-section. I'd like to deliver them all normally and he's still waiting for the chance to deliver his first set of triplets that way. Ultimately we will do what is right for the babies but it doesn't hurt to be hopeful!
Today the scale read that I've put on 34 pounds total which is really good. I don't feel like I've put that much on until I see myself in the mirror. I am measuring 38 weeks gestation though - basically full term. I've changed my original personal goal to make it to 35 weeks to 36 weeks since things are going so well. The longer these babies stay inside, the less time they will need in the NICU and the quicker they come home. And when you count the weeks until then, it's only about 6 or 7 weeks away. Are we ready?!?!?!?!
Oh yeah, and the stretch marks have begun to make their appearance. Mind you only in the last week but they are progressing a little more quickly than I'd like. I'll just consider them battle scars. Not like I'll be wearing a bikini anytime in my life anyway!
No ultrasound pictures this week. I had the tech that takes forever and when I requested a copy of the growth report, you would think I was asking her to steal. I got it anyway but would like to see the other tech going forward. She was one of the best. Maybe next week we'll get pictures!
Until the next post - be well!

Dee - you are doing GREAT! I can't believe you've only gained 34 pounds with THREE babies in there!?!?! I think I had gained that with just ONE. I'm sure of it. The least I ever gained was with my middle son - 17 pounds. With the other two I gained at least 50 - remember that was ONE baby! ;-) I never even thought you could delivery naturally. I just assumed it would be a c-section! I will certain pray that the babies cooperate & this works out for you. Have you checked online for techniques to turn the babies? There are positions out there to help this. Not sure where but it should be easy enough to find if you type in "breech" & "turn" or something like that.
So glad your little ones are growing well!! Awesome job mama!!
