24 Weeks

August 29, 2008

Since week 20, I now have weekly doctor appointments and ultrasounds. Since August 1st, I've also been on modified bed rest. This doesn't mean I'm confined to bed but do need to take it easy. No housework. No lifting or carrying heavy objects. No standing all day. Basically I can watch TV, read a book, scrapbook, and even sew if I feel like it. I can also cook a meal but haven't felt up to doing a lot of that.
Contractions have been a daily occurance since week 11 or 12 and will come on if I bend over too much, if I carry something I shouldn't, if I have to pee, and even the babies' movements will cause them. They don't hurt - it's just a tightening of my belly either in spots or the entire thing. But if they become regular or painful I'll have to call the doctor.

I can feel the babies move every day and for the most part tell them apart. Alaina is head down and typically faces my spine. When she kicks I can feel it in my bowel or intestines. Kind of has that hurt/tickle feeling. Kiera is a very active baby and kicks alot. She is the one I feel and see the most. She too is head down. Liam is up top and transverse under the right side of my rib cage. I'm sure he gets kicked alot by his sisters but he's on top so I don't think he feels much.
